No Man's Sky VR is Just BEYOND the Horizon

VR is great. It can add another layer of immersion to a game world, make gameplay more interactive, and allows you to appreciate the beauty of games in a whole other dimension. No Man's Sky is a game that comes to mind every time I consider VR-ifying existing games and for good reason.

Well, it looks like Hello Games is finally making the plunge into the 4th dimension because virtual reality for No Man's Sky is a reality! A few weeks ago Hello Games announced their next big update would be released this summer, but they didn't detail what it would entail besides calling it The “Beyond” update. No Man's Sky's last update “Next”, which added multiplayer and various overhauls, will be year old by the time “Beyond” releases. It was revealed today that the “Beyond” update will include VR compatibility for No Man's Sky.

The atmospheric nature of No Man's Sky seems like the perfect way to make a chill virtual reality experience. The beautiful and colorful environments, weird and vocal creatures, and varied weather effects should make for a breath taking scene in VR. Taking to the skies and space while virtually sitting in your trusty ship's cockpit sounds surreal. Exploring the galaxy in No Man's Sky will be getting a bit more personal come this summer.
